RICKY BENOIT BRAD VINCENT JAMES TOUCHET The Cajun Country Band took 4 years to put together. We tried many times but it seemed as though, we had something missing. This year 2007 things started coming together. We have so many years of collective musical talent. The Band members are from Southwest Louisiana, 4 are from Vermilion Parish, 1 from Lafayette Parish and 1 from Iberia Parish. The Cajun Country Band features GARLAND THOMPSON, Lead Vocals and Rythym Guitar. Garland has a tremendous singing voice influenced from the late Hank Williams, George Jones and Merle Haggard. Whether Garland is singing a beautiful Country Song, a Cajun French Song or a Swamp Pop Song it all seems to come out so natural. RICKY BENOIT comes to the band after 12 years with Louisiana Purchase. Ricky plays Accordian and Keyboards as well as singing Cajun French, Swamp Pop and harmonizes. BRAD VINCENT comes to the band after many years with various bands. Brad plays Steel Guitar as well as singing and harmonizes. RON POPE brings to the band an extensive background in a wide variety of music. Ron plays Lead Guitar as well as Keyboards and helps with background harmony. Ron has played in opening acts starting in the early 1980's. The first being BORDERLINE from Beaumont, Texas. They opened for Mark Chestnut in Beaumont at the start of his professional career. The most recent was with Steve Hagan and Hardwhiskey opening for Tracey Lawrence at the Longhorn Saloon in New Iberia, La. JOHN VIATOR comes to the band after playing many years with many bands playing different styles. John plays a driving style of Bass as well as sings Country and Swamp Pop. JAMES TOUCHET is the leader of the band and plays Drums. James has played many styles of music through the years with many different well known musicians. James also does Back Up Vocals on some of the songs. Together the Cajun Country Band plays a wide variety of music from Cajun French, Old Country and Swamp Pop that our audiences enjoy listening and dancing to. We play for Wedding Receptions, Festivals, R.V. Gatherings, Private Parties and Dance Halls. We are preparing to go into the Recording Studio soon.
